GARIKOITZ MENDIZABAL ETXEBERRIA

1973: Born in Zestoa (Gipuzkoa).
Director of the “Izarraitz” band of txistu players from Azpeitia (Gipuzkoa) , and of the “Idiakaitz” group from Zestoa (Gipuzkoa) .
Member of the group of dulzaina players from E lgoibar (Gipuzkoa) .
2002: Awarded 1st Prize in the Competition for Bands of Txistu Players held in Rentería (Gipuzkoa) with the Vitoria Municipal Band of Txistu Players.
1994 and 1996: As a soloist, 1st Prize in the Basque Country Competition for Txistu Players , and 2002: 2nd Prize in the Basque Country Competition for Txistu Players .

1997 – 2002: Director of the Vitoria Municipal Band of Txistu Players.
2003: Silbote player in the Municipal Band of San Sebastián .
Since January 2004: Director of the Bilbao (Bizkaia) Municipal Band of Txistu Players.
Since 2003: President of the Basque Country Association of Txistu Players.
