TXISTU SYMPHONIC
TXISTU SYMPHONIC
The txistu as a solo instrument in an orchestra: that’s Txistu Symphonic, a groundbreaking and ambitious work that has already begun to go beyond national boundaries.
Txistu Symphonic will help to open up new possibilities for the txistu to be present in national and international orchestras with its own diverse repertoire. Far from being a one-off, this initiative has been designed to gain momentum and grow.

ENRIQUE UGARTE
COMPOSER, ARRANGER and ORCHESTRA CONDUCTOR.
"Our experience in Txistu Symphonic with Garikoitz Mendizabal has confirmed to us that, as a solo instrument accompanied by an orchestra, the txistu has a lot to say and is comparable to many other instruments which are historically associated with this role. It has great virtuosity and clearly lends itself to variation, with a wonderful tessitura and musical colour which, far from being problematic, stand out distinctively from within the folds of a symphony orchestra. Garikoitz is one of the great txistu players of our time".
